Dewar Hogan is a well-known and respected niche property litigation practice in the City. The firm consists of seven lawyers who deal with all type of commercial and residential property litigation and advisory work. The firm’s current matters includes development work such as opposed lease renewals, rights to light, party wall, and access issues; disputes over land ownership; and professional negligence claims. The firm clients include investors, developers, fund and asset managers, and retailers; and it has growing referral practice.
The firm is looking for a junior associate. It is also interested in hearing from senior property litigation lawyers, or senior lawyers with experience in related fields, who are considering alternatives to a full service firm.
The Associate’s role, qualifications, and experience
The Associate will have his or her caseload and will assist in relation to larger cases. The firm is very supportive and discussion with senior colleagues is encouraged. An understanding of the importance of providing a high level of service is essential. An interest in marketing would be welcome but is not necessary.
At least two years solid property litigation experience is required together with confidence, good communication skills, and a commercial instinct.
The firm is interested in hearing from partners, or other senior lawyers, who have had successful careers in other firms but would like the opportunity to consult with, collaborate, or work with the firm for their mutual benefit. Senior property litigation lawyers are the most suitable candidates but the firm would be glad to hear from lawyers who have experience in related fields eg. trust litigation, or insolvency. The firm would be happy to consider lawyers who have built up strong client relationships and are considering retirement.
